Vegan “Chicken” Fried Tofu
( serves: 4-6 Servings )

Cook Time: 30 Minutes


- 2 packages extra firm tofu

- Vegetable oil

- 2 cups flour

- 1 Follow Your Heart Vegan Egg

- 1 cup unsweetened plain soy milk

- 1 tablespoon seasoning salt

- 1 tablespoon garlic salt

- 1 teaspoon salt


- Slice tofu in 1/4" slices. Place in between a towel and put a slightly heavy object on it in order to press out most of the water. Leave it for about half an hour.

- Heat about 1-2" of vegetable oil in a heavy bottom pan.

- Make dipping stations. Combine flour, salt, and spices in a dish. Whisk vegan egg and soy milk in a separate dish.

- Dredge tofu slice in flour and shake off excess. Dip in egg mixture and place back in flour mixture. After, place on a piece of parchment.

- Continue the same with the remaining tofu slices. The oil should be good and hot by now. Place 3-4 slices at a time in the pan. Turn and brown on each side. Place on a paper towel when done.

- PS: They reheat very well in the oven at 375 degrees.
