I want to play a little catch up since I feel that I haven’t been too personal on this blog yet. We have mainly been focusing on recipes so that we have a lot of food content on here, most of our new readers are here for the food and not for the fashion (but please let me know if you were a long standing OHEMV reader and miss our outfit posts!). We will start focusing a lot more on outfit and fashion related posts now that we have gotten into a groove and stock piled other content. I definitely go through phases of creativity. When I am hard at work I tend not to put a lot of effort into what I’m wearing, especially since I work from home. But after taking a short break from photographing my outfits I’m really excited to start at it again! A few of my followers have been asking if I’m going to start YouTubing again and the answer is yes. I will start making videos again over the next couple months, thanks for being patient with me! I will be making vlogs as well as “What I Eat In A Day” videos. Please comment on here or on my Instagram if there are any videos you really want to see! Ps. As you can tell in these photos I stopped dying my hair black, I’m debating whether I should dye it again or if I should let it go through an awkward phase and grow out to my natural color (reddish-brown). Please let me know your thoughts, I’m so indecisive!

Now onto the outfit… Yesterday I went to my Dad and Brandon’s show at LA Speed Shop. Afterwards we headed to Venice to get dinner with our friend Jon who is visiting from Malaysia. He treated us to an amazing vegan dinner at Plant Food and Wine. He ordered the entire menu and we were able to try everything (thanks Jon!). My favorite dishes were the warm olives, smashed avocado, artisanal cheese plate, gnocchi, spring pea ravioli, and banana split.

I also wanted to clarify before I get any “you’re wearing leather” comments. I do wear vintage/second hand leather products. Buying used is something I’ve done for years as a form self expression but most importantly for environmental reasons. It’s only been in the past year that my eyes have truly opened to the horrendous effects the animal agriculture industry has on the environment which is why I’ve gone vegan. I am vegan in every aspect of my life. I have a vegan diet, I only buy vegan/cruelty free products, and I definitely don’t buy new leather products. However, I have no problem buying vintage leather because it is a form of recycling, supports small business, and in almost every case it is more environmentally friendly than buying a vegan leather product. I completely understand if wearing/using any form of animal byproduct disgusts you, but please understand that I am in no way, shape, or form, contributing to those industries. Also, I still have some “animal skin” products from before I was vegan that I will continue to use. If anyone would like a more in-depth post about this topic please let me know. I know there are some vintage loving vegans that have mixed emotions about this topic and I would love to share my opinion if anyone is interested!
